So for the past couple weeks I've been messing around with the trial version of openCanvas. Unfortunately, this is the first extensive experience I've had with any art program, mainly because I can't afford PS and others.T-T (I'm not even sure if I can afford the registration code for oC; I forget how much it is, but I think it's quoted in yen and I'm sure the exchange rate sucks right now...) Anyway, I like it so far. It's been slow-going, since I don't seem to be very good at making time for it. (Stupid work and girlfriend..X] *only kidding about the gf part*) I'm almost done with my second CG. (I'm actually CGing!) They're both just exercises yet, not actual pieces. I'll post them soon. I did the first one with help from 's oC tut's. here and here

Something else:
I **FINALLY** got my first Wacom tablet!! I've been wanting one for AGES! Got a graphire 4 on ebay for just over $50 with shipping. I think it's a good deal..? (Also got some RAM which sped up the ol' compy a bit...)
This thing is a bit trickier than I thought it would be, but I'm getting used to it. Still beats the shit out of using a mouse. I know- if I were hardcore I'd just learn to draw with the mouse, but I really don't see the point when I can already draw and the technology exists to mimic that mechanism at a reasonable price.

Anyway, I'm gonna post the first one now and then hopefully the next one in a day or two. Maybe I'll be able to post more often now. Not only do I not have to scan, but the new toys are motivating me to actually draw more. (More than a little is still not much. *not a real proverb*)
